About Me
Like many parents, I turned to various sources for advice, only to be met with dismissive reassurances that disrupted sleep was just a normal part of parenting. The tipping point came when our second child arrived, and we found ourselves even more sleep-deprived and struggling to cope.
With a determination to find a solution, I sought help from a sleep consultant who helped us understand the underlying factors that were affecting our child's sleep and provided us with practical solutions and strategies to improve the situation.
I didn't think it was possible. When you're sleep-deprived for so long and you forget what being well-rested feels like, it's hard to imagine what's even achievable. Fatigue contributes to increased depression symptoms in 59% of mothers and I didn’t fully grasp the toll it had taken on my mental health until I was on the other side of it. I felt like myself again, with the energy and resilience to handle the demands of parenting two young children.
This transformative experience deepened my passion for understanding the importance of sleep and I enrolled in the Family Sleep Institute in 2021, drawn to its comprehensive and evidence-based curriculum.
My mission is to empower parents by supporting them in improving their children's sleep. I provide the expertise and resources necessary to tackle sleep challenges with confidence tailoring my approach to align with each family's preferences and their child's unique needs. I firmly believe in challenging the normalisation of chronic sleep deprivation and dispelling misconceptions about sleep that often deter parents from seeking help.
Establishing healthy sleep habits and routines helps give little ones the best start and enables them to be their best selves; even adding as little as 27 minutes of sleep per night can positively impact mood and impulse control in children, underlining the vital role sleep plays in overall well-being. And when parents are supported to feel at their best, it not only strengthens family bonds but also makes the journey of family life more enjoyable, especially during those important early years.
Your family deserves to thrive, not just survive.
